About Serving The Valley

Latrobe Valley has a vibrant hospitality sector with over 150 local food businesses.  Serving the Valley exists to support local people to prepare to work in this industry and deliver exceptional service.

We work with our local hospitality businesses to meet their needs for staff. We offer training courses that prepare local people to work in the Latrobe Valley. Our course is based on learning by doing and gaining feedback to improve performance.

Job seekers get access to employers, practise their skills and get work experience in our 5-day Serving the Valley course. Further upskilling courses are offered by experts. Our database is available for employers looking for local people who have been trained and are work ready.

Serving the Valley is a project of Traralgon Neighbourhood Learning House.

The pilot and consultation was funded by Learn Local in 2016. Serving the Valley participated in the VicHealth Community Challenge and has received funding and support from VicHealth.
